A Day in Your Life Portrait Session

Portraiture is all about memories and, all too often, a formal studio session fails to truly depict you and your family as you really are.  This session is designed to create a “time capsule” of family images to keep as a very special collection to treasure for years to come, and to pass down to future generations.

What we need to know:  To make the most of this session we need to discuss your hobbies, routines, dreams… everything that makes you, you, right now.  What do you and your family do? Do you dance or play musical instruments?  Do you hike, sail, fish, hunt or work out? Do you have any pets or love animals? Do you have a favorite person who watches the kids or gives them lessons?  What kind of work do you do?  What do you do at home?  What special moments do you share with your children? All of these can be included in this very special day.

How do we start?  The family interview.  Getting to know your family a little will help me on the day we shoot.  First, we have to convince the teenagers that this isn’t totally lame.  Next, I want the younger children to know who I am before the shoot date.  If I can connect with them they will be excited about the shoot date.

Planning the day well is very important because we would like you to include anyone who is special to your family. Babysitters, housekeepers, best friends, grandparents or teachers that are special to you now deserve to be remembered and what a great gift when you give them an image in appreciation of how much they have given you.

What we do:  Plan on 3 to 5 locations that represent your family.  You will want different clothing or special uniforms for each location selected.  Your home is a great starting location and your hobbies, dreams and lifestyle will lead us through the rest of the day. Different locations may include only individual family members and we can plan the day around work and school schedules.
